A Stalker Stalking Our Stalk
I felt like a stalker (out our front window) stalking the stalker who is stalking our stalk.
Some people in our area buy corn stalks to decorate for the Autumn season. If you're lucky, the stalks have some dried corn ears on it.
The corn brings in all kind of visitors. Chipmunks, squirrels, and blue jays mostly, but I did see a woodpecker checking it out, too.
The jays only stay for a little while. Looking at the birds profile...how many kernels of corn could fit into that tiny tummy? I think they eat their fill, and then go somewhere to rest and digest.
If his name happened to be Robert...could you say this is Bob on the cob?
If his name is Lear...could you say he is King of the ear?
If he could talk, do you think he would thank me for putting up the stalk by the sidewalk?
