The Willcox

After a rather long (but very scenic and thoroughly enjoyable) 7 1/2 hours of driving from Asheville, North Carolina, we have now come to rest in Aiken, South Carolina at the very lovely Relaix & Chateaux hotel known as The Willcox.

Here you can see Mr. W striding through the bedroom doorway into our lovely, spacious living area with two well-deserved glasses of wine!  It's dark outside, and this is the only photograph I've taken all day, so I'm afraid it will have to suffice. 

We are staying here mainly because Mr. W's great grandfather arrived here from Germany in the late 1800's, and worked here as a chef.  We thought it would be very interesting to visit his old stomping grounds.
