Liverpool
We'd never been to Liverpool before, so decided to have a day exploring the city. We started off with a walk along the docks down to the Liver Building, before walking back along the front to the arena. We then went inland to the Anglican Cathedral for lunch and what we expected to be a walk up the tower. We found out that the journey is actually two lifts and then 180 steps to the top. Great views were had!
From there we walked through to the Catholic Cathedral before returning to the docks for sunset and dinner.
The blip is the Liverpool Wheel, the extra is the view across the river at sunset.
What we learned:
* Superlambanana is a series of sculptures around the city. They're a cross between a lamb and a banana. And they're then painted different colours. Yes, that does look as strange as it sounds!
* The bloke who designed the Anglican Cathedral was a catholic. He also designed the red phone box.
* The inside of the Catholic Cathedral is amazing. There was a service on so we couldn't take any photos! :-(
* Liverpool is a much nicer city to walk and photograph in than Manchester.
* The Catholic Cathedral was started 60 years later than the Anglican Cathedral but was finished ten years earlier.
