Pet Insurance

Sorry peeps but today we have to have another RANT! This time it is 'pet insurance' that is winding Ann up...............................

….....................Today we received my pet insurance renewal papers and it would seem that the cost of insuring me for one year is £557.14. Surely that is massively overpriced, ridiculous and just plain stupid???
The policy has a £60 excess fee on it, it doesn't pay out for on going treatments after a year (so the Apoquel that I have to take every day to stop all my itchies is no longer covered) and it has a limit of £2,500 for any treatment.
OK....................... so now I'm an old little collie and over the last year I've had a few ailments that have been paid for via my pet insurance but Ann's been paying for pet insurance ever since she got me and for the first 10 years of my life, she didn't claim a single thing.
Ann says if she ever has another dog she will just open an account for the dog and pay in money every month so that if it gets ill she will have the money to pay for it.  And we have always supported 'Dogs Trust' and our membership to that includes third party insurance in case I cause an accident or injure another dog/person.
OK RANT over. Ann's going to spend the evening faffing around on www.gocompare.com
