The Wrap

So my last American blip and how fitting is this? Meet Mr G, a New Yorker from Brooklyn currently visiting Washington. One of those people you fall into conversation with and find yourself still talking to an hour later. He talked about the gentrification of New York, about his work with homeless people, his time in Israel and as a non-combative veteran of the Vietnam era ...  But for clarification, he has never roamed Middle Earth, been headmaster at Hogwarts, or fronted for ZZ Top ...

It all started with him commenting on my t-shirt ("I will write for food") which attracted quite a lot of attention today, including from customs officers. Might wear that t-shirt a lot ... the power of a good slogan.

Did the museum of American History - odd and a bit disappointing - and the national archives, which were brilliant (amazing to see the constitution and the declaration of independence) - before catching the taxi to Dullas Airport. Very fast flight home.

That was a brilliant experience ... can't wait to go back to the States ...
