Rouge vif d'Etampes

This Cinderella pumpkin in our kitchen was a gift from my niece and nephew. The centuries-old French heirloom pumpkin looks just like the coach in the fairy tale Cinderella. The glowing orange color contrasts magically with the very pronounced lobes and flattened top.  It is the first thing I see in the morning when i turn on the kitchen lights and I think to myself, "Happy Halloween."  
Halloween?  What did the monkey say when his tail got cut off?
"It won't be long now".
