Toad

Took advantage of a dry day to get the washing done, plant out the plants I bought last week and tidy a border. In doing so I uncovered this handsome creature. Initially just his back was uncovered and I couldn't work out what it was but then a foot appeared so I went for the camera. By the time I'd returned he'd opened an eye, but walked away before Mr Rat came to see.
As you can tell from the pine needles on his back he's quite large.
I'm sure he's found another place to hide, I left quite a bit of vegetation and watched where my feet went.
Just a short run because of the cold, though that seems to have been quite short-lived.
