Autumn

Autumn is well and truly here....

An incredibly good day in our household today!

To cut a long story short, my dad has been very poorly indeed for the last three years. For 3?years they have been trying to get to the bottom of what was wrong. A year ago we 'celebrated' that he was diagnosed with platypnea orthodoxia! Little did we know that having a diagnosis didn't mean that they could fix him! He spent over 50% of his last year in hospital, with an amazing team of consultants trying to find a way to help him! 6 operations in that time... Nothing seemed to help! Today was another 'long shot' op .... So used to not having success we really didn't get our hopes up ...

8 hours later my dad is walking up and down stairs in the hospital.... He's been able to have a shower by himself and the nurses are struggling to keep him in his room.

For the last three years he had not been able to walk more than 5 steps without having his blue lips and hands, gasping for air and collapsing ...

So so excited... I am struggling to believe it ...

An absolutely amazing team of consultants who were determined to make him one of 5 patients in Europe with this condition who have been successfully treated...
