Where once was water

I happened across this site of a former public well in the north side of Dunmanway parish today. There's a certain appropriateness in locating a defribrilator on the spot where a public water pump once stood - but can save lives. 
At the same time, I noticed that it sits right above the opening of the well - whose cover is rusted and damaged! So an angel of mercy might fall not from the sky but into the well!
