Blackwall tunnel
This tunnel, original built between 1892 and 1897 is one of the arteries between the City of London and everything North of the Thames and South London and Kent. It was originally just one tunnel but as traffic built up an extra tunnel was put in. There are deliberate bends built into the design, apparently to stop the horses that used to pull waggons, carts etc through the tunnel from bolting when they saw daylight! We use it whenever we go down to the coast,
