IN THE SARPHATIPARK

in Amsterdam, in the Pijp, Oud Zuid. There is a monument in memory of the the jewish physician Samuel Sarphati. On top a golden crown as you can see in my blip. The doves find there a nice view over the park. The crown makes an impression as if it is a big bird itself, or so it seems to me.
This park was composed by Van Niftrik in the english landscape style and the monument was build in 1886.
I came by train to Amsterdam in the morning and walked with our friend Cor to the Noordermarkt (in the Jordaan), a lot of people come there at monday morning, it was very crowded. It is a famous market and I had been there only once, so very long ago.
We looked for some fabric but did not succeed and therefor we walked from there to the Albert Cuypmarket, quite a long distance from there, but it was nice to walk along the canals and through the little alleys. The weather was good, the sun had come behind the clouds.
We walked that market too but did not find what we looked for either.
Then we had a rest in the nearby Sarphatipark, the green and quiet park. it has a luxury sphere, enhanched by the stately houses around it.
We had walked enough, were tired and went by tram to the Central Station.
A drink and a thai diner and then I went home by train.

My haiku:

City life busy
As usual and crowded
Escape in the park

And the proverb:

God heals, and the physician has the thanks.

Time to go to sleep now. Mischa has arrived safely in Stockholm, glad to visit her dear friends.
