St Martin flies

Big news of the day is that the statue of St Martin was put back on top of the basilica, there was a big crane and a big crowd so we had a look. It was quite fun to watch but from our position we couldn't see him soaring any higher than this. He's now on top of the basilica and looks pretty impressive.

We tried hiring bikes in the morning but it seems we didn't get out of bed early enough - fingers crossed for next Saturday.

Instead we went for a walk down by the river, bought a mini-oven and did the washing. Exciting stuff. I say that, but actually having an oven is very exciting and broadens our culinary exploits quite substantially - Martin is particularly excited about the prospect of melted cheese.
