Croydon
As part of our tour of the south a visit back to the place where I met my husband and eldest was born - we did a whistle stop tour of our old house (our first home together) and Mayday (where eldest was born) - eldest was only a toddler when we left so he had no memories of his own so we wanted him to have some. Plus a few other places that meant something to myself and hubby (perhaps too many pubs and house parties :-) ? )
While we were reminiscing we were also looking out to see how the riots had affected the town (especially poignant as there is a documentary on BBC2 at the moment) - this was a photo taken out of the car window as we drove past Reeves Corner. Some will remember the family owned furniture shop that was arsoned - it seems to have been rebuilt and covered in photos of hope - there were tears in my eyes.
