Self

As predicted, it's become too cold to sit in the car while Dan has his guitar lesson, so I have taken refuge in The Sun. Obviously, I couldn't just sit here without buying a drink but I'm increasingly wary of having even one alcoholic drink and then driving so I opted for a soda water, which I then felt awkward about as I was told they don't charge for it.

Having failed to pay my 'rent' I found a table and settled down to read the opening chapter of my 'Self' journal, which I am hoping is going to change my life a bit by making my days a bit more structured and organised. The website can be a bit off-putting, for sure - "The SELF Journal helps organize and align your tactical day-to-day tasks with your larger life goals" - but what it actually offers is, I think, just what I need.

Away from all the terrible inspirational talk on the website (and, admittedly, in the book to some extent), the actual day to day use looks spot on. Each journal is intended to cover 13 weeks and you are supposed set up targets for what you want to do in that time - lose weight/get fitter, play some guitar, write some of my book - and then set weekly and daily activities to achieve them.

Hm, maybe it still sounds dreadful from a distance but I'm going to give it a try.
