The Osprey at Newton Mearns

The Osprey is no more. An late evening shot of the signpost a week after the parent company - Mitchells & Butlers - closed it down as a "Vintage Inn". In a few weeks times it will re-open as a "Miller and Carter" steakhouse.

The following morning the sign was destroyed with the Vintage Inns logo and the The Osprey board broken out. No attempt was made to preserve the painting.

As a Vintage Inn it complemented the nearby Beefeater, as a Steakhouse it will be going head-to-head. The Beefeater has a Premier Inn attached. Also, by Christmas, a "Hungry Horse" is opening located between the two steakhouses.
