I have no idea why there's a woolly hat on top of this fencepost, but it's got lichen on it so it's clearly been there for a while. An early piece of yarn-bombing, perhaps?

A day off after working eight in a row, so this morning I took the dog for a big walk, up the hill and then along the road. She's been asleep all afternoon. :-)
