Ants and Ivy

Walked into town for coffee with friends.....and as I was coming back it started to drizzle briefly.  Bah - sunshine gone.
Saw the ivy flowering and then noticed all the ants there on.....Anyone tell me what they are gathering?
Am off for the next few days - out of internet connections so will be back blipping.
