Form over Function
While we have been using the new kitchen for more than 3 months, we have still been waiting for certain matters to be resolved to our satisfaction. One of those was the hood. It looked great; black glass echoing the material of the induction hob (Why did we wait so long to get one?). The only problem is it didn't draw the fumes away from our cooking, even on the highest setting. In the end I gave up waiting and contacted the manufacturer direct.
It is apparent that despite the hood being recommended to us by the designer, it is not suitable for induction hobs, because of the lack of heat that is produced (from burning gas, or the electric element). This means that the draw of the fan is insufficient to capture the cooking fumes or steam. tonight I got to try a new hood that was recommended and supplied by the manufacturer for induction hobs, what a difference.
Anyway, it helped as things were lacking in opportunity for photographs today so you have an E.B.
