Convoy

I was driving home from Oswestry this morning when the traffic crossing the by-pass island was stopped by police. I thought that there had been an accident but it was to let two of these abnormal loads travel along the road. 

I'd read about them, convoys of parts for a wind farm beyond Welshpool and travelling from Wrexham every day for two months. There has been controversy about them as they have to go through small Shropshire and Powys villages with it's inherent dangers.

I hadn't seen them before and they really are huge as you can see by comparing them to the other traffic. This was taken through my car windscreen as I waited - there was no way that I could get a shot of a complete one as they were so big.
