Thwarted!

This is Russet's favourite field, the Moat Field, which lies just behind our church. There is a medieval moat around the centre, which gives dogs a great deal of pleasure as they run down into it and then up again. In the winter it often floods and becomes a real moat once again.

But today we didn't go in - because of the sheep!
Russet wouldn't hurt them, but I don't let her off the lead with them around (once when she was very young got into a different field and she tried to play with them - they were terrified!).

It is countryside law that dogs should not run free in a field where livestock are grazing.

And not being let off the lead is no fun for Russet!
So off we went down the lane to find somewhere else to go!
