London 2012 Day 3
Annoyingly I missed out on seeing the climax of the Gymnastic men's team final (see real sport below), but I returned to see them showing off their bronze medals on Gaby Logan's show. Sam Oldham, Max Whitlock, Dan Purvis, Kristian Thomas & Louis Smith winning GB men's first Olympic team medal since a bronze in 1912. Also on the sofa are Gabby's guests Steve Redgrave, Greg Louganis & Denise Lewis.
Loved the innocence and joy of Plymouth based and trained fifteen-year-old Lithuanian Ruta Meilutyte who won her country's first ever Olympic gold in the swimming pool in the women's 100m breaststroke. Shame that her schoolmate Tom Daley along with Pete Waterfield could only finish fourth in the synchronised 10m platform diving (is castration to harsh a penalty for the twitter moron?).
Good to see Katherine Grainger and Anna Watkins break the Olympic record by nearly five seconds in their double sculls semi and our OAP friends David & Clare enjoyed themselves at Greenwich where the Great Britain three-day eventing team moved into second place after a good day in the cross country..
In real sport I made my second outing for our village 4th tennis team this evening in our final match of the season - we won 3-0 and that secured us top spot in our division.
