Peacock
Common? This is a first for me this year.
He flew above me for almost the length of the field and then settled to charge up his batteries about 4 metres into the dense scrubland at the border.
As I have said, he was my first peacock this summer and I had to have him. So I set off into the briars and brambles and nettles and thistles and bindweed. each time I moved a foot the whole entangled mess moved like a game of pick up sticks. At each step I took a shot, cursing my lens choice.
This was my last shot before he flew away, over the shrub and over the adjacent fields. I had two goes, with flash and without, I think this has most detail but the other has more saturation on his beautiful shiny wings.
