Adventure - day three. Etna

I don't mean the tour to the top. I did that a few years ago and was scared I might be blown into the crater. No. today we put the focus firmly on the volcano itself and the surrounding countryside and communities.

We're staying in Acireale and the rooftop view of this special town is my blip. Not heard of it ? Not surprising. It's not a tourist town.

We drove to the little railway which circles the mountain and had spectacular views as we travelled from Linguaglossa to Ravazzo. A walking tour of the medieval town. A "light" lunch, wine tasting and then a visit to a stunning private villa.

This has the makings of a marvellous trip. In the steps of Inspector Montalbano...... more of that later.
