Utrecht

Hopped on the 10:00 Intercity train from Maastricht to Utrecht this morning. Arrived in time for a late lunch having checked into a rather swish hotel. A treat to make up for saying goodbye to the family last night.

Walked round the canals which are lovely. This is the Oudegracht - the old canal - and I think it dates from 11th century. The creator of Miffy, Dick Bruna, was born in Utrecht so there is a good deal of Miffy (Nijntje) memorabilia around. Very pleasing! The Dom Tower of Utrecht is in the background

Back at the said hotel just now getting ready to go out for a canalside drink and yet more food.
