Sun days

Early start clearing away the debris from the felled oak, cutting up usable timber and taking the rest to be recycled.

Thank goodness for strapping great son, have to get my monies worth out of him before we set of to install him in Uni in the next weeks.

As a quid pro quo he demands feeding , so stir fry ginger chicken with local veg is on the menu.

I am quite proud that all the ingredients are local, possibly with the exception of the ginger, tho' this was bought from the organic stall in the market. The courgettes are mine, they are a variety called Tondo di Piacenza, typical courgette they are not, more like baby pumpkins with attitude, the leeks are from Teri and Xavier's organic enterprise as are the fennel stems and the garlic, the onions are mine, the chicken was killed yesterday as it scratched contentedly in the pig farm, peppers are mine (missing from photo as not yet chopped) and only the soy sauce has traveled more than a kilometre.

We also have some risotto, left over from Adams lunch yesterday, prepared by a friend who is a chef turned triathlete, who trained at the famous "celler de can roca" known as the second best restaurant in the world. That will be fine as the starter, glass or two of Mas Oliveda Rosé nicely chilled and bring on the siesta.

I may stir myself for a swim later, but will more likely chill and look forward to the Spice Girls heralding the return of normality to television. At least once I have finished watching all the taped events I have stored up, wow only 19 hours of beach volleyball to go before I can catch up with Eastenders.
