Kowhai

This beautiful Kowhai tree is flowering nicely in the deserted Red Zone area of town( where the EQ hit badly and the land is now unsafe for houses to be, they're all demolished and all that's left is grass and the odd tree.)

Not much happening this week , until Friday when I'm off to Wellington to meet up with two girlfriends (coming from Auckland) for the weekend.. really looking forward to lots of catching up, eating , shopping and relaxing!
