Mono Monday: Double Indemnity...
Wow, Dollykgray certainly set us a tricky topic for MM this week!
Anyway I thought I'd set up a representation of what was alleged to have happened in the 1944 film noir movie. In case you don't know the plot (I didn't), it's well described in Wikipedia here. In short, there's a mock-up of an accident where it's made to look as if a chap (Dietrichson) with a broken leg and crutches has fallen off a train and died. His wife (Phyllis) and her lover (Walter Neff), having set up the "accident", try to claim on a life insurance recently taken out by Phyllis without Dietrichson's knowledge; "Double Indemnity" refers to the fact that the insurance is to pay out double its face value in the case of an accidental death. (I didn't know what "Double Indemnity" meant - it's amazing what one learns from blipping!).
I'm indebted as always to my longsuffering "Editor" (MrsC) who knew where our Duplo train was, found all the necessary bits for it scattered in the box, and also found the Playmobil figure along with the plaster cast for his leg and some ski poles..
Then it was a case of setting up the scene on an "embankment" (books and a decorating sheet) and hanging the Playmobil figure from threads in the correct pose. Following that a bit of Photoshopping was necessary to clone out the strings, tweak the ski poles to look more like crutches, rotate the smiling mouth to make a sad face, then there was just the mono conversion to do in Silverefex.
Please view large if you've time, for best effect.
Many thanks to Dollykgray for causing me so much fun... :-))
