Thetford Priory

I lived relatively close to this site for many years but never visited! Today, on my return journey from the East coast,I called in to have a look at another ruin.  It is the shell of a once glorious and important monastery founded in the early 12th century by an order of Cluniac monks (I hadn't heard of them either!)  Lots more info on the English Heritage website if you're interested.

Now a dash to choir to rehearse for Christmas!
