Heart of Midlothian

(Outside St. Giles' Cathedral on the High street, Edinburgh).

Many years ago I heard a lady on the radio say: "...And finally, in last week's Travelogue programme from Edinburgh, we incorrectly stated that it was customary to sit on the Heart Of Midlothian for luck.  We meant to say 'spit'.  We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused."
