Between the lines

I spent two and a half hours in the garden this afternoon digging, or trying to dig out some more ground elder. 2 1/2 hours spent digging, pulling out roots, on my hand and knees searching by hand for the bulbs/seeds, sawing thicker roots, sifting soil etc. This area between the lines, an area approximately 2ft x 5ft. Extremely hard work. It's been the worse part of the garden to sort out so far.
