Kaiser Wilhelm Gedachtnis Kirche West Berlin

After the war only the partially destroyed west tower was still standing, in the 1960s a new modern church was built, next to the ruin,  the tiny windows were made in France of 24 mm glass, from the outside they appear uninteresting little squares from the inside the small stained glass look amazing with a golden image of Christ  above a simple  alter table a row of white candles.The church is in the middle of a newly build shopping area..  Yesterdays picture in East Berlin.  
it is strange un nerving feeling to be stood where soldiers patrolled to stop people trying to escape to the west.
