Birding

There's a great local bird website that has a daily record of which birds are where in the hotspots around the island. A couple of Great Crested Grebes have been spotted in Grouville Bay in the east of the island, so we went out there for a mooch this morning.

We didn't get to see the grebes but we did see this lovely bird which I'm pretty sure is a Bar-tailed Godwit. According to the RSPB website they breed in the Arctic of Scandinavia and Siberia and hundreds of thousands of them pass through the UK, on their way further south, or stop off for the winter. There was only one this morning but I'm sure more will be on their way.

As it's got a pink beak I'm going to tag it for Pinktober or BCAM. Please click the link to support cancer research and to offer someone a free mammogram. Thanks.
