The studio

This is the studio at Tickle Tank Garden.
We have visited this house and garden many times, and no photos could ever fully capture the wonder and variety of sculptor/artist Irene Pearce’s garden at Mount Barker in the Adelaide Hills.

As you walk through the gate, you leave the ordinary world behind and enter a different world. Every inch of space is a mass of colour and form, with fountains, mosaics and sculptures and careful planting that create one vignette after another.

In the middle of her extraordinary garden is Irene’s house, built from a 50,000 gallon concrete water tank. Holes have been cut in the concrete walls for windows, and a magical home inside has been created over various different levels. It has been featured on TV many times.
