Through the Golden Gates ...

A tiny red tree - part of the new planting around the refurbished Golden Gates of Benmore Gardens - taken through the whorls of the aforementioned gates from the Glen Massan road. I can't help wondering how the gates will weather - the gold is beginning to show the marks of its wet and leafy surroundings. Still looks gorgeous, however.

The extra photo is of the start of this afternoon's walk, which I thought looked particularly inviting today.

A footnote: there were more midges around by 5.30pm than I've seen all summer. Midges in October. I ask you ...
