Autumn flowers

Weather more mixed today - quite a chilly breeze too. I took my camera out when I went shopping, but eventually took a picture back at home.

This is Nerine 'Codora', a cultivar with a slightly stronger colour than the usual Nerine bowdenii.  It's probably a hybrid with Nereine sarniensis. Both species, along with many others, are bulbs which are native to South Africa and N. bowdenii and its hybrids do well here, especially if the soil is well-drained. Mine is at present in a pot, awaiting a garden!
