A little trip to Spain

... a virtual one! Today we'd booked to see a lunchtime show in the place de l'Hôtel de Ville in Narbonne. At 11 a.m. it was pouring with rain here. Attempts to contact the Theatre to find out what was happening were vain, so we decided to take our chances. It wasn't actually raining in Narbonne (yet), and the solution was to seat the audience under the awning of Monoprix. The actors, however, were out in the open. As the rain fell ever more steadily, they retreated to the steps of the Mairie, but it really wasn't working and after about 20 minutes they gave up.

So, at a loose end at 1 pm, it seemed a good idea to try the nearby tapas place I've been meaning to visit for months. It's a little slice of Andalucia; we got more Spanish practice here than we did at yesterday's Spanish class as the patronne is bilingual in French and Spanish, and her husband is from Almeria. We had some excellent little tapas that were good enough to order some raciones to follow. This is the burrata salad -- yum. We followed it with a massive plate of perfectly cooked secreto iberico (pork from Iberian pigs) with fried potatoes. No room for pudding, but we managed coffee. We'll definitely be back; this is already my new favourite restaurant in Narbonne.
