Macringan's Point and Davaar island

(with Ailsa Craig between)

16.4C with bright spells through the morning then longer sunny spells as the cloud broke in the afternoon. Wind Easterly then ESE to 26 mph with gusts to 33 mph.

Apothecary7 went into work for 7.30am. One of the shops is short of staff so the Pharmacists are covering.

After lunch Maeve the Deerhound and I went for the repeat of our usual morning walking route across the road and round to the park and the harbour and back along through town.

Once Maeve was back home and settled I went for a walk. Shania Twain (Come on Over) then Suzy Bogguss (Something Up My Sleeve then Give Me Some Wheels) on the Clip. I went out Low Askomill to the old shipyard and kept going out the North shore path past Baraskomel farm and all the way out to Macringan's point where I enjoyed the views out to the lighthouse on Davaar island and up Kilbrannan sound to Carradale (on Kintyre) and Arran's mountains. There were no boats out today. M110 HMS Ramsey has left the loch. On the way back I avoided the scrambling section and made my way along the rocks down on the shore which wasn't particularly easy but I preferred it to the scramble although it hasn't done my left knee any good!

Once I was back on the path I heard the low growl of big engines from out to sea then the lifeboat (Severn Class, Ernest and Mary Shaw) came in through the channel making good speed towards the harbour.

On the way back I walked round the esplanade to the harbour and came back home through town. The hubs for wind turbines were being escorted though town on low loaders by two very self important police cars (or is that police cars driven by self important policemen ... either way all lights and sirens).

Afternoon music ... George Michael, Ladies and Gentlemen ... The Best Of George Michael.
