Day 278 of 366 - The Golden Cross!
Today's photo was taken early this evening in the Cathedral Quarter area of Coventry City Centre. The view is of the Golden Cross pub. This Grade II* listed Tudor property was built in the late 16th Century and is one of the last few remaining buildings in the City with a medieval timber frame. The building has gone through a series of restorations mainly in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Timbers were used from the original wooden Bell Tower of St. Michael’s Church (long before it's time as Coventry's Second Cathedral). It is believed that the pub is one of the oldest alcohol serving venues in the city.
The photo was taken using the camera app 645 Pro on my iPhone 6.
First I used the app Snapseed to edit the picture. I Cropped and Straightened the photo and applied both the Tonal Contrast and Drama presets. I then decreased the Highlights and boosted the Saturation and Ambiance. After this I used the app Handy Photo to delete a couple of signs on the building as well as an advertisement sign and a few street bollards from the side of the pub. Next I used the app Stackables to apply the Warm Glow formula. Finally I used PhotoToaster to add the Clarify preset, the Drama FX and the Large Dark Vignette. I then applied the Scratched texture and the Charcoal frame.
