The Conkerer
If I remember back to my schooldays we didn't really play conkers, but it was fun collecting them to see who could find the largest (for those of you not familiar with conkers, they are the seed of the horse chestnut tree. Spiky pods would fall off the tree which would contain the conker. You would spear a hole through the conker and thread a piece of string through. Then you and your friends would take turns swinging at each others conker until one of them broke) Now, I'm all for art and this caught my eye, sitting in the corner of an art gallery window (the conker - not me!). It's called 'Conker Swing' and, according to the price-tag, can be yours for a steal at £480. Where was that when I needed it all those years ago? This one is made of the wood of a horse chestnut tree.
