THEN CAME THE SANDING...

You can get thoroughly sick of sanding...

This a "Fender Stratocaster" body which CC bought for a client - it came "rough cut" - emphasise the "rough" OK?

So, I had to take off all the hard edges with a spoke-shave - luckily I really like  the form of the Stratocaster + I'm so familiar with it - this was no sweat. And then came the sanding...

Couple of coats of pore-filling sealer & more sanding... Two coats of black nitro-cellulose varnish, followed by six coats of clear nitro-cellulose, Then guess what?

More bloody sanding to get rid of the "orange peel" effect. You might think this would take half an hour - wrong - half a day...
