Coats Memorial Church

An absolutely stunning building, I've never managed to get inside for a look. My Mum worked for Coats before she got married and tells me that all the girls in the office dreamed of being married there so they could sweep down the stairs like film stars. My mother and father were married elsewhere, and I am told on that day 5th July 1960 the rain bounced down so hard that the church they were in couldn't open their main doors so they left via a side door. That would have been a great disappointment if she had been here!
