Coniston Water

Some heavy rain in the night and a bit grey in the morning but not cold.
Today was another Lakeland Trails race and in the morning I was helping for the 10k race - stopping traffic shortly after the start and handing out finishers' t-shirts at the end.
Then it was time for my race and the weather was quite warm and sunny intervals, good running weather.
I managed to start off not too fast and soon started passing people, even before we got to the hill. There was the usual frustrating section when people ahead want to walk and I want to run but it's too narrow to get past but once that was past it was good running, though quite wet underfoot. Although there were some boggy and muddy sections it was nothing like a month ago (though there was a thigh deep water section just before the finish), but care was needed on the wet slate and tree roots through the woods.
Some other club members had come along and also enjoyed it - and we won 3 spot prizes! The extra shows the lake at the end of the afternoon.
