Glendhu Bay
Glendhu Bay
It's Sunday and on Sundays The Bossess comes walking. Oh Boy I just love zipping and zapping with The Bossess and today was great fun. The Boss needed a Blip so he decided that we would start at the far end of the Millennium track at the Glendhu end and we did walking back towards Damper bay. It was a DFO (dull Flat and Orrible ) lighting morning so the Boss got out his NC filter (no Colour) and apart from all the mud on his sneakers when he started to sink into the lakeside there was nothing going on except ME zipping and zapping in fine style.
Now in response to ellebasi I am pleased to announce that there is a picture of The Boss with snowshoes and snow taken on Friday by acyclinggranny Oh he looks so athletic and dashing...Stuffed. Snowshoeing is quite hard work he tells me. I think I would have managed fine without but The Snowfarm had their ND filters on and I couldn't go. Probably a good idea The Boss thought.
There seems to be a bit of interest in this filter so in the fullness of exposure time The Boss has promised to Blip the test.
Glendhu Bay has one of the major camping grounds for the Wanaka area. The Boss and Bossess remember fondly, camping there over the Christmas holidays with a cast of thousands where you can step out of your tent (early on) or caravan (later on) straight into the water. The Bay tends to be sheltered and there is fabulous fishing to be had just a boat ride away. This area is also famous for the "villages" which spring up as folk from Otago and Southland arrived the week before Christmas and built enclaves with scrim fences multiple tents and some even had petrol powered washing machines in older times. This activity is not encouraged the same now and of course there are better facilities there too. It is deserted in winter.
