A cross at the airport

Have had little Wi-Fi juice these last few days so blip delay it is too. 
There's a cruceiro at Vigo airport which clashes bad with the control tower. Come to think of it, in olden times cruceiros used to mark where roads got together and separated. Isn't that what happens at airports?
