The Lighthouse, Scotland's Centre for Design and Architecture, is a visitor centre, exhibition space and events venue situated in the heart of Glasgow, just off Buchanan Street. The Lighthouse acts as a centre for the creative industries in Scotland and promotes design and architecture through a programme of exhibitions and events. Formerly housing The Glasgow Herald, The Lighthouse was the first public commission completed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, and the view over the City is impressive.
