Today:
Last night, I slept reasonably well. Went to bed early, woke up at 1:30, 3:30 and finally got up at 6am. Decided to take a shower and get on with it. It was only 12/54 degrees here which made it quite lovely and I wanted to make the most of it. I walked to the farmer's market and bought sweet and Thai basil, coriander leaf/cilantro and 4 cute aubergines/eggplant. I enjoyed walking to the market as since Stewart has been gone and my dog has been living at his other home it takes special motivation to get out currently. The weather was just perfect and I knew the walk would help clear my head. I was out the door by a little after 7 and back at my home within the hour. I felt like I was walking slowly, but I couldn't have been, I think my new slow must still be faster than it used to be after all those months of walking with long legs Bremner.
I returned home and got my record player out and played some tunes and straightened up the house. I also gessoed 20 6x6" mdf boards that I have had since we scavenged the wood at the Underground last year and on which Stewart painted his cars. I remember fellow artist and friend Linda Sheets cut it up for us. So today I prepared the surface and started painting these very black paintings... This is the first one that I was pleased with. As I was doing them, I was thinking of them as interior gestures.
I chatted with Stewart off and on throughout the day as well. Talked to my brother Sean and my Dad. I listened to music and watched some crazy garbage tv.
I hope tomorrow is as cool. I was trying to meet with a friend and patron tomorrow to visit and give her some work but that is proving difficult. It will resolve itself soon I am sure. I also remembered to take my multi-vitamin...
I will get back on track.
As I type this, the sky above me is striped blue and pink and it is 20:15/8:15 at night. I want the fall.
