Stocking up for winter

Spotted this little squirrel on my walk this morning as he darted across the road with an acorn in his mouth and then - amazingly - he sat on the wall and posed for me!  I had my little Lumix camera to hand which was even more amazing.  It's not as sharp as I'd like but as I tried to creep a bit nearer, he scampered off! 

It was Holly dog's birthday yesterday - so this one's for you Holly!  Chasing squirrels was one of her favourite things.  Mark you, if she'd been with me on the walk this photo wouldn't have happened at all!  We are going to plant some crocuses on her grave this morning which will hopefully come up in the spring.  Holly was no respecter of flowers and liked to actually sit on the flowers in our garden - so now the tables will be reversed!
