Twisted Oaks

It was like a holiday today-sort of. My volunteers did the animals and I took the morning off and read for a couple of hours. I can't remember the last time I did that. Then as Colm was planning a trip to Garninish island with his girlfriend and he wanted a lift, I ended up in Glengarriff. So, as the sun was shining at that point I headed up to Lady Bantry's Lookout. It was hard choosing which photograph to post. The oak woods are so atmospheric, especially with these twisted , gnarled branches.
It poured with rain just as I reached the car.
