Survey time again
Another survey trip across the Irish Sea looking for bird life and cetaceans. We had a pretty rough start to the crossing, with 40 knot winds and a nasty cross swell which kept me in my bunk for a while. The conditions improved gradual and a few birds appeared, Rob managed to pick up a couple of Harbour Porpoise too.
We have to wait on board in Dublin harbour and have some crew lunch which is better left undescribed!
Then back to the bridge for a much better crossing home, with gentle seas and a tail wind. I was lucky to spot a group of Common Dolphins though they did not come over for a ride, and we saw some swallows on their way south.
Home by midnight!
