The Icing on the Cake!

Today I have had a long meander around town. I took a few photos to represent sayings and phrases, which is the topic for this weeks Facebook Pic of the Week. As if I really needed an excuse to have a slice of cake as my lunch!

It's a rhubarb and rosehip syrup cake and it was delicious! The tartness of the rhubarb was a lovely contrast with the sweetness of the cake!

I remember when I was in infant school, many decades ago, and the teacher brought in a bottle of rosehip syrup and gave us all a spoonful when we were learning about plants.It was the most delicious thing I'd ever tasted! I nagged my Mum to buy some but she wouldn't as it was expensive and anyway she didn't know what it was! So first chance I got, I ate a rosehip expecting it to taste the same! 

Needless to say, it didn't!
